About me
My name is Sebastian Weidenhagen. I was born in 1984 in the middle of Germany, in Mansfeld. I studied religious education in Bad Freienwalde (Oder) [2004-2007] at church-theological school für religious education Missionshaus Malche e.V..
I lived and worked in different places in Germany, so I went to Reichelsheim (Odenwald) in 2006, and Schlangen in 2008 and Oebisfelde from 2009 to 2015. While living here, I studied church music grade C in Halberstadt [2010 to 2012]. I came nearer to my hometown and I lived in Halle between 2015 and 2021. I have been living in Dresden since 2021.
Most recently I was a religion teacher at various elementary and secondary schools and at the high school in Halle and the Saalekreis, and also I worked as religious education in Landsberg und Hohenthurm. I taught music in various secondary and high schools.
I have been actively involved in choir work for more than 10 years. The following choirs were under my direction:

Since 2019 I have been a personal consultant in the State Committee Choir work by the State Music Council of Saxony-Anhalt.
Participation in the 5th international choral conducing seminar Wernigerode 2019, organized by INTERKULTUR, enabled me to work on technique and interpretation compositions by Prof. André van der Merwe (South Afrika) and Romans Vanags (Latvia) and the Radio Youthchoir Wernigerode.
In 2023 I participate master class by Prof. Jan Scheerer [Denmark / Germany]
The musical work is based on the very good and extensive training at the Mansfeld-Südharz music school in the subjects:
- Keyboard (1991 - 1997)
- Piano + Organ (1997 - 2004)
- Music theory und Hearing (1996 - 2004)
- choral conducting (2001 - 2004)
- Introduction to playing scores with old keys (2007)
In Oebisfelde there was a coorperation between the elementary school “An der Aller” and the evangelical church. 2009/10 and 2013/14 we developed and presented on stage the children musical “Tuishi Pamoja – a friedship in the Savanne” (written by S. Engelhardt and M. Schulte, © FIDULA) and 2014 the children musical “Am Himmel geht ein Fester auf” (written by J. Ehni und U. Führe, © FIDULA)
In 2009, 2017 and 2018 I was participiant by Prof. Dr. Sigfried Macht at university for church music in Bayreuth and I studied pädagogical dancing. “Holy Ghost moves the earth” and dances to philosophical Lyrics.
Again and again I am asked to preach or play the organ in services.
The CORONA-pandemic forced me to work digital. I learned to cut and edit videos and so I had a certificate for this skills.
